However in Monsoon season, it is not appropliate to visit here.  But today the weather here is very cool all year because it is among the valley. And also there is a resort available tourists who want to stay here.I think the resort is best equivalence another resorts. But the most important thingis that itis very cheap. Sukhothai Historical Park

Hi! I am today so excited. Why? Two things I want to tell you. First this is my first post  in English and second I have my first blog which power by blogger.com. So, my activities which I do in Sukhothai I can broadcast telling everyone in the world know them. Even thought this picture was taken for four years ago which I visit with my best friends to Sukhothai Historical Park. Hence today I will the brief history of this site.

Sukhothai Historical Park is located in Tambon Muang Kao, Ampher Muang Sukhothai. It is twelve kilometers away from town. It is opened daily from 8.30 a.m.-4.30 p.m. Ruins of the royal palaces, Buddhist temples, the city gates, walls, moats, dams, ditches, ponds, canals, and the water dyke control system, which were the magical and spiritual centre of the kingdom, are now preserved and have been restored by the Fine Arts Department with the cooperation of UNESCO. It’s not only with a view of fostering Thailand's national identity, but of safeguarding, a fine example of mankind's cultural heritage. The park covers the ruins of the ancient Sukhothai Kingdom. UNESCO declared it a World Heritage Site in December 1991. During its golden age, Sukhothai was the centre for administration, religion, and economy. The original city was surrounded by walls with 4 city gates. Today the walls house a number of sites worthy of visiting. They include:
  • The Royal Palace
  • Wat Mahathat,
  • The Ramkhamhaeng National Museum
  • The Ramkhamhaeng Monument
  • Wat Si Sawai
  • Wat Traphang Ngoen
  • Wat Traphang Thong
  • Wat Chana Songkhram,
  • Wat Sa Si
  • Wat Mai
  • San Ta Pha Daeng (the Deity Shrine)
I often like to visit this site because the peaceful and harmonizing of this old city. I also recommend you to be here in the afternoon because the weather is quite hot. Besides  you can see the great city, here there are many souvenir shops and food restaurants. It is very cheap. My favorite dish is Somtam with roast chicken. And here if you don't prefer walking you can rent bicycle only 20 bath per time. However the fee to enter is only 20 bath per person (Thai Citizen)   and 100 bath for foreigner.
